Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist I for the Rapid Response Lab in New Britain, CT. The role runs Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–3:30 PM with rotational weekends and holidays, focusing on high-complexity testing and accurate result reporting.

Qualification includes a BS in Medical Technology or related field, and 1 year of clinical experience in high complexity testing is preferred. Excellent adherence to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA guidelines is required.

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology or related field is preferred.
• 1 year clinical experience in high complexity testing is preferred.
• Ability to follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA guidelines and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, testing, reporting and record-keeping of patient results.
• Maintain records showing proficiency testing samples are tested like patient specimens.
• Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
• Review and release test results.
• Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines.
• Adhere to lab policies when test systems are out of performance range.
• Identify, troubleshoot and report problems affecting test performance or results.

Education

BS in Medical Technology

BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology

Associates degree in a Laboratory Science or Medical Technology

Previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493
