Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Brick, NJ is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist I for a Monday–Friday schedule, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM with rotational weekend shifts, at a hospital-based Ocean site. This role offers exposure to cutting-edge lab instrumentation in a Fortune 500 diagnostics leader.

The responsibilities include specimen handling, testing, reporting and records management, adherence to CLIA/HIPAA/OSHA, and proficiency testing.

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology or related field; or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology; or Associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• 1 year Clinical experience (high complexity testing) preferred.
• ASCP Certification.

Responsibilities

• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, testing, reporting and records.
• Maintain records showing proficiency testing samples are tested like patient specimens.
• Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
• Review and release test results.
• Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines.
• Follow policies and procedures when test systems are not within performance levels.
• Identify and correct problems affecting test performance or reporting.
