Responsibilities

• Collects blood samples.
• Identifies samples which are incorrectly collected or processed.
• Processes and stores samples.
• Performs all of the repetitive (high volume) tests in the laboratory.
• Recognizes a problem, identifies the cause, uses alternatives and determines solutions where no pre-set criteria are available.
• Confirms and verifies results through a knowledge of techniques, principles, and instruments.
• Correlates and interprets data based on knowledge of physical conditions affecting test results.
• Establishes and monitors quality assurance programs.
