Job summary

Avera St. Luke's is seeking a regular full-time Laboratory Support/Phlebotomy role in Aberdeen to collect blood and other specimens from patients per established standards.

The position involves specimen labeling, transport, processing, and basic point-of-care testing within the lab, with attention to regulatory compliance and patient care. The role requires a High School diploma or GED and a valid driver's license, with prior related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Driver's license required at time of hire.
• Less than 1 year related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects blood and other specimens from patients following established standards.
• Labels, transports or stores collected specimens accurately and timely.
• Processes laboratory specimens including centrifuging, separating, measuring, storing and distributing to testing areas or reference labs.
• Interprets inpatient and outpatient test orders to determine collection times and specimen types.
• Performs selected point-of-care testing according to established procedures.
• Maintains and distributes records required by regulatory agencies and law.
