Job summary

Bronson Methodist Hospital is seeking a part-time Medical Laboratory Scientist for the Education & Safety unit, first shift. The role involves performing diagnostic and analytic testing, maintaining quality control, and ensuring accurate documentation and communication of results.

Candidates should be enrolled in or have completed a NAACLS-accredited MLS/Medical Technology program with eligible certification (ASCP/AMT) within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• Be enrolled in a NAACLS accredited Medical Technology/MLS equivalent program for a bachelor’s degree and graduate within 60 days of hire.
• Completion of a NAACLS approved Medical Technology/MLS program with Bachelor’s degree.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry or Biology with MLS certificate or equivalent.
• ASCP/AMT or equivalent MLS eligibility and certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and analytic testing on human specimens to produce reliable data for diagnosis and treatment.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment; manage inventory and reagents.
• Communicate test results accurately to clinicians and document in the system.
• Participate in quality control and quality assurance procedures.
• Assist in training staff and students and participate in Lab Quality Program activities.
