Job description

The ChristianaCare Medical Laboratory located on the Newark campus is currently recruiting for a Medical Laboratory Scientist with experience in Molecular Diagnostics.

We have two (2) Day shift positions available. The work schedules are:

8:00am - 4:30pm and 10:30am - 7:00pm. (Every third weekend and two to three holidays per year required.)

Responsibilities:

• Perform all test procedures accurately as listed in the procedure manual, including instrument preventative maintenance.
• Follow quality control procedures and document corrective actions when necessary.
• Adhere to turnaround times, verify critical values, and ensure proper specimen identification.
• Complete all stat and routine results promptly.
• Record workload and statistics into the computer system.
• Follow safety protocols to perform work safely.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's of Science degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or an Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
• Knowledge of clinical laboratory techniques and procedures.
• Knowledge of infection control procedures.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tests accurately.
• Skill in operating automated laboratory equipment.
• ASCP Certification preferred.
