Job summary

Tidelands Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our team. The MLT will perform routine tests to support diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease; work across chemistry, hematology, urinalysis and immunology.

The successful candidate will have an Associate's Degree in Medical Lab Technology, clinical training, and knowledge of HIPAA and quality control. This is a day shift, full-time position with an emphasis on safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Medical Lab Technology or related science is required.
• Clinical training in an accredited Medical Lab Technology program is required.
• Knowledge of lab safety, HIPAA regulations, and quality standards is essential.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical laboratory functions including chemistry, hematology, urinalysis and immunology.
• Report test results following clinic protocols and alert providers about abnormal results.
• Ensure quality control in specimen collection, sampling, and record keeping.
• Maintain laboratory equipment: set up, calibrate, clean and test sterility.
• Comply with laboratory policies and OSHA safety regulations.
• Serve as back-up to Lab Manager as needed.
