Job summary

Tidelands Health is hiring a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to perform routine laboratory tests supporting diagnosis and treatment. The role involves chemistry, hematology, urinalysis and immunology, with emphasis on accuracy, safety, and compliance.

The MLT will report results per clinic protocols, maintain QC, and back-up leadership as needed, in a team-focused environment at our South Carolina locations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical laboratory principles, standards, applications and tests.
• Proficient ability to use a computer and electronic medical record.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Commitment to HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
• Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical laboratory functions including chemistry, hematology, urinalysis and immunology.
• Report test results following clinic protocols alerting providers and/or clinical staff about abnormal results.
• Ensure quality control in collecting specimens, ensure appropriate sampling and maintain accurate record keeping.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies.
• Set up, maintain, calibrate, clean, and test sterility of medical laboratory equipment.
• Comply with all laboratory policies and OSHA regulations related to safety, cleanliness and infection control.
