Join us as a Medical Laboratory Scientist at Houston Methodist in the Spring Emergency Care Center, working PRN during evening shifts.

This role involves performing routine and complex laboratory analyses, requiring a solid understanding of laboratory techniques, principles, and equipment. The position demands critical thinking, good judgment, and issue resolution skills to ensure accurate and timely laboratory results.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote a positive, team-focused work environment and collaborate effectively with the patient care team.
• Train students, new employees, and others as assigned.
• Participate in laboratory and organizational initiatives.

Service Functions

• Perform qualitative and quantitative tests using analyzers and manual methods.
• Organize workload, prioritize tasks, and assist others to meet turnaround times.

Quality and Safety

• Demonstrate competency in test systems and investigate discrepancies.
• Perform instrument calibration, validation, quality control, and maintenance.
