Job summary

Baptist Health - Central Alabama is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to provide timely, courteous service to patients, physicians, and hospital staff by performing laboratory analyses accurately and efficiently. This role requires strong problem‑solving skills, attention to quality, and the ability to work both independently and in a team.

Primary location: Baptist Medical Center East. This regular-full-time position includes a second shift (7 on / 7 off).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a chemical, biological, or clinical/medical laboratory science.
• Clinical laboratory training culminating in national certification as defined by ASCP Board of Registry.
• ASCP MT/MLS certification or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, courteous service to patients, physicians, and hospital staff by performing laboratory analyses accurately and efficiently.
• Detect unusual conditions and assume responsibility for problem solving.
• May have additional duties within the scope of the role.
