Job summary

Providence Holy Family Hospital seeks a qualified laboratory professional to analyze biologic specimens and quantify or qualify clinically relevant properties. The role focuses on integrating analytical results to aid in diagnosis or disease monitoring and requires the ability to apply laboratory standards to moderately complex problems.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree and national certifications in medical technology, plus at least 1 year of internship experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Certifications: NMT- ASCP or NMT - AMT or NMT - AAB, or NMLS - ASCP, or NCLS - ASCP, or NLT - US Government.
• 1 year medical technology internship required.
• Experience to work effectively in commonplace lab medicine problems and apply standards and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Analyze biologic specimens of human origin to quantify or qualify clinically relevant properties.
• Integrate and transmit information derived from analyses to assist in diagnosis or monitoring of disease.
• Work on a moderately wide range of assignments and interpret/apply procedures to problems of moderate complexity.
• Report to Lab Manager.

Job description

To analyze biologic specimens of human origin in order to quantify or qualify clinically relevant properties. To integrate and transmit information so derived in an effort to assist in the diagnosis or monitoring of human disease. Work assignments are generally not given project-by-project; rather, a moderately wide range and variety of work activities and processes are required to bring assignments to completion. Work processes and assignments frequently require the incumbent to interpret and apply operating procedures or technical standards to problems of moderate complexity. Reports to Lab Manager.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Upon hire:
  • National Medical Technologist - American Society for Clinical Pathology, or
  • National Medical Technologist - American Medical Technologists, or
  • National Medical Technologist - American Association of Bioanalysts, Or
  • National Medical Laboratory Scientist - American Society for Clinical Pathology, Or
  • National Clinical Laboratory Scientist - American Society for Clinical Pathology, Or
  • National Laboratory Tech - United States Government
• Sufficient experience to enable the employee to work effectively in commonplace work situations and to provide working knowledge of the principles, practices, standards, methods, and techniques of laboratory medicine.
• 1 year of Medical technology internship.
