Regions Hospital Laboratory is seeking a Laboratory Services Technician to join a team dedicated to quality and patient safety. You will work in a modern lab, supporting Regions Hospital and a network of clinics, and participate in training new personnel and students.

The role involves testing, implementing new methodologies, and potentially serving as a charge tech, with a schedule including evenings, weekends every third, and rotating holidays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, biology, or related field required.
• Advanced degree or training may substitute for preferred certification.
• Strong teamwork and training/mentoring abilities are valued.

Job description

Regions Hospital Laboratory is currently seeking a professional, quality-focused Laboratory Services Technician to join our team. As a Medical Lab Scientist at Regions Hospital, you will join an innovative and collaborative group of professionals in our newly remodeled laboratory designed for ergonomics and workflow. Our team has also been engaged in developing our new laboratory information system designed to provide efficiency and patient safety.Your work will support Regions Hospital as well as six other suburban hospitals and over twenty clinics in our network.

As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will work as a member of a technical work team in the Clinical Laboratory including performance of laboratory tests in the section assigned including:

• Assist in the implementation of methodologies.
• Participate in the training of new personnel and any student clinical rotations.
• Assisting in the development and implementation of training programs for new personnel and students: to assist with directing personnel by serving as a charge tech.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Work schedule:

• Evening shift: 2:30PM-11:00PM
• Every third weekend
• Rotating holidays

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, biology, or other science related field. Advanced Degree or training (Masters in Sciences or Clinical Specialty) may substitute for preferred certification
