Job summary

Harba ApS is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our clinical lab team in Indiana. The role involves accepting specimens, performing complex procedures, operating and troubleshooting analyzers, and evaluating new reagents.

You will also report results promptly and participate in QA/QC and safety practices. The ideal candidate has a biology/chemistry/medical technology background, 0–2 years of lab experience, and familiarity with LIS; licensure may be required depending on

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology (or meet CLIA/State requirements).
• 0–2 years of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• State Medical Technologist license may be required depending on placement.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred or required depending on placement.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; proficient with computers; LIS familiarity a plus.
• High attention to detail and strong communication and organizational skills.
• Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen.
• Overtime or other shifts may be required.

Job Responsibilities:

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria


• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures


• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality, making technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving


• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls


• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care


• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures


• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary, assist with specimen processing when needed


• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory (CLIA and State) requirements


• 0 to 2 years of clinical laboratory testing experience required


• State Medical Technologist license may be required depending on placement


• ASCP or AMT certification preferred or required depending on placement


• Ability to work independently and within a team, proficient with computers, familiarity with laboratory information systems a plus


• High attention to detail, strong communication and organizational skills, must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen


• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts based on business needs
