Pride Health is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist to support our client’s medical facility, which is based in Houston, TX. This permanent opportunity is a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Responsibilities:

• Verify patient demographic information and specimen suitability.
• Organize and prioritize workload to meet medical staff needs and avoid errors or delays.
• Perform routine and special lab procedures accurately per policies and evaluate results for accuracy.
• Identify and troubleshoot abnormal test results in a timely manner.
• Provide age-appropriate testing and care using correct instrumentation and reference ranges.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations and STAT requests.
• Assist colleagues with specimen errors and workload to maintain turnaround times.
• Report quality control issues or exceptional patient cases to supervisors or clinical staff.
• Enter clinical data accurately into the record-keeping system with minimal errors.

Qualifications:

Minimum 3–4 years of lab experience, specifically in:

• Hematology
• Urinalysis

Bachelor's Degree

Certifications (One of the following is required):

• MLS-ASCP – Medical Laboratory Scientist, ASCP
• MT-ASCP – Medical Technologist, ASCP
• MT-AAB – Medical Technologist, AAB
• MT-AMT – Medical Technologist, AMT
• CLSP – Clinical Laboratory Specialist, NCA
• IMLS – International Medical Lab Scientist, ASCP
• BB-ASCP – Technologist in Blood Bank, ASCP
• C-ASCP – Technologist in Chemistry, ASCP
• H-ASCP – Technologist in Hematology, ASCP
• M-ASCP – Technologist in Microbiology, ASCP
• MB-ASCP – Technologist in Molecular Biology, ASCP
• MP-ASCP – Technologist in Molecular Pathology, ASCP
• MT-STATE – State-certified Medical Technologist

Pay Range: $33/hr – $49/hr

*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
