Job summary

University of Utah invites applications for a 12-month Medical Laboratory Sciences faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level in the Department of Pathology. The successful candidate will teach core didactic and laboratory coursework for the NASACLS-accredited BS program and supervise student rotations in the APL, with possible teaching in other health-related programs.

Administrative duties are assigned per experience.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field is required.
• ASCP certification as a Scientist is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of bench-level clinical laboratory experience.
• MLS certification or college/clinical teaching experience preferred.
• Experience with clinical microbiology is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Teach core didactic and laboratory coursework for the NAACLS-accredited BS in Medical Laboratory Science.
• Support student rotations in the Advanced Practice Laboratory (APL).
• Provide teaching support for other health-related programs as applicable.
• Assume administrative responsibilities in the Medical Laboratory Sciences Division as appropriate.
