The Department of Pathology at the University of Utah Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine is inviting applications for a 12-monthfaculty position. This faculty position will support the teachingand administrative needs of the educational programs in thedivision of medical laboratory sciences.
Primary responsibilities will be in teaching core didactic andlaboratory coursework for a well-established and robustNAACLS-accredited Bachelor of Science program in Medical LaboratoryScience as well as support of student rotations in ourstate-of-the-art Advanced Practice Laboratory (APL). Additionalteaching responsibilities may include support of otherhealth-related programs in the candidate's area of expertise.Administrative responsibilities in the Medical Laboratory SciencesDivision will also be assigned commensurate with prior experienceand faculty interest.
The successful candidate must be ASCP certified as a Scientist, possess a minimum of a Master of Science in Clinical LaboratoryScience, Laboratory Medicine, Medical Laboratory Science, or arelated field, have a minimum of 2 years clinical laboratorybench-level experience, and have excellent interpersonal, written,and oral communication skills. Preference will be given toapplicants with MLS certification, those who have college orclinical teaching experience, demonstrated scholarly productivityand a record of active participation in professional societiesrelated to laboratory medicine. Individuals with clinicalmicrobiology experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with thecandidate's experience and accomplishments.
