Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Augusta, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Medical Technologist to provide accurate and timely laboratory results to physicians. The role covers performing tests, reporting findings, and ensuring quality in assigned areas of licensure.

You will follow CAP guidelines, exercise professional judgment, maintain equipment, and support infection control. Must be ASCP registered or eligible; hospital lab experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be registered as Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist by ASCP.
• Technician certification or certification eligible as defined by GDHR.
• AS or BS in Medical Technology or NAACLS accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Perform all approved laboratory procedures in assigned areas of licensure with accuracy.
• Exercise independent judgment under minimal supervision.
• Interpret results, organize workload, and report results timely.
• Determine acceptability of results and seek assistance when needed.
• Document corrective action for quality control and adhere to CAP guidelines.
• Follow best practice methodologies and laboratory compliance policies.
• Ensure high-quality test performance with daily maintenance and inventory awareness.
• Practice infection control and maintain a clean work area.

Education

ASCP registered Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist

GDHR certification eligible

Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology or NAACLS accredited program
