Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Medical Laboratory Technologist for our Core Lab. You will perform, evaluate, and monitor laboratory tests, ensuring timely reporting of results and adherence to protocols.

The role supports newborn to adult specimens and provides training to staff while maintaining quality and accreditation standards. 20 hours weekly with early day shifts; weekends/holidays rotate. Bachelor's in CLS required; MT/MLS certs to be obtained within 1 year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree inClinical Laboratory Sciences required.
• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Medical Technology or related field required.
• MT/MLS certification needed within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests per protocol.
• Evaluates results for clinical significance and reports findings.
• Performs calibration, maintenance and repair of instruments.
• Ensures quality control and QA; takes corrective action when needed.
• Collects specimens from newborn to adult patients per protocol.
• Provides training and guidance to staff; supports accreditation standards.
