Labcorp is seeking a Medical Lab Technologist to join our team at the Halsey Lab in Portland, OR. Work Schedule: Casual/Per diem.

You will determine the acceptability of specimens for testing, perform routine and complex procedures per SOP, monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation, make technical testing decisions, prepare reagents or controls, report accurate results, perform preventive maintenance, and maintain a safe work environment with proper PPE.

Responsabilidades

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Job Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Life Science, Medical Technology
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience in high volume laboratory
• ASCP or AMT certification

• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
