Job summary

Holy Cross Health Fl is seeking a responsible Medical Technologist for a full-time day shift. The role includes performing laboratory tests, recording data, and maintaining equipment according to established guidelines.

The candidate must hold a bachelor's degree in the biological, chemical, or physical sciences with at least three years of MT experience and Florida licensure in multiple clinical areas; national certification is preferred. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biological, chemical or physical sciences is required.
• Minimum of three years experience as a Medical Technologist.
• Licensed Medical Technologist in Florida in multiple clinical areas; national certification preferred (ASCP, HEW, NCA, ASMT, AAB or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Prepares and uses proper controls and standards for all tests performed; records data and follows guidelines for out-of-range results.
• Correlates data and monitors test results for reasonableness.
• Detects discrepancies and takes appropriate action.
• Performs and documents scheduled and unscheduled equipment maintenance within expected time frame.
• Recognizes and troubleshoots equipment malfunctions using results and performance as a guide.

Modified Full Time position

• Prepares and uses proper controls and/or standards for all tests performed. Records data and follows specified guidelines dealing with course of action for out of range results.
• Correlates data (clerical or technical) and monitors test results for reasonableness.
• Detects discrepancies and takes appropriate action.
• Performs and documents scheduled and unscheduled equipment maintenance within expected time frame.
• Recognizes and troubleshoots most equipment malfunctions without assistance, using control/patient results and equipment performance as a guide.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors degree in one of the biologic, chemical or physical sciences.
• Minimum of three years experience as a Medical Technologist.

LICENSURE

• Must be a licensed Medical Technologist in more than one Clinical area by the state of Florida.
• If working night shift must be licensed in all areas.
• National certification preferred i.e. ASCP, HEW, NCA, ASMT, AAB or equivalent.
