Overview

Performs high-volume, repetitive laboratory tests and, using standard procedures, identifies causes of technical and instrumental problems.

Qualifications

Education: Certification from a nationally recognized credentialing agency, i.e., ASCP, AMT, or AAB within 6 months of hire. Recertification is required every 3 years if certification was obtained on or after 1/1/2004. Certification does not expire for individuals certified prior to 1/1/2004.

Experience: Experience as a generalist or in a designated discipline is strongly preferred.

Additional Skills/Abilities: Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Must be able to maintain absolute confidentiality in handling patient information. Absolute integrity and accuracy in the identification and reporting of numbers and names are essential.
