Job summary

Singing River Health System is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to evaluate specimens and perform testing per established laboratory protocols. The role includes verifying results, maintaining instruments, and performing phlebotomy as needed, all while adhering to safety standards.

Candidates should have an Associate Degree in MLT, and ASCP or AMT certification within one year. 1 year of experience is preferred, with reports to the Laboratory Operations Manager/Director.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology required by CLIA.
• Certification as MLT by ASCP or AMT within 1 year of start date.
• Minimum of 1 year experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy performed as part of duties.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate specimens for acceptability and perform testing per protocol and procedures.
• Verify accuracy of results before reporting.
• Maintain and calibrate instruments; troubleshoot issues as needed.
• Perform phlebotomy (venipunctures, fingersticks) as required.
• Follow universal precautions and safety procedures.
