Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Medical Laboratory Technician.
• Certification: MLT (ASCP) or MLT (AMT).
• None required; must pass Certification exam within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived, moderate, and high complexity testing accurately, timely, and efficiently.
• Performs EKGs, venipunctures, arterial punctures as needed.
• Maintains departmental records of tests, results, and equipment maintenance.
• Performs quality control, troubleshoots discrepancies, and documents corrective actions.
• Assists in training of new hires and students as needed.
• Operates LIS/EMR for accurate patient chart reporting.
• Adheres to regulatory standards and PPE requirements.
• Identifies problems and escalates to leadership as needed.
