Job summary

Candidates should have an Associate Degree in CLS or Military Lab Procedures, and relevant state licensure; 0–2 years' experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology.
• Military Medical Laboratory Procedures course (50 weeks) acceptable.
• 0–2 years of acute clinical laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived, moderate, and high-complexity tests; reviews results for accuracy.
• Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots laboratory equipment and performs preventive maintenance.
• Performs quality control and documents corrective actions for out-of-range results.
• Documents patient results in LIS and follows critical result reporting procedures.
• Collects blood specimens via venipuncture/capillary techniques with proper IDs and labeling.
• Recognizes and resolves issues related to specimen collection and testing; escalates as needed.
• Participates in training of students and new personnel; provides feedback.
• Performs other duties and maintains regular attendance; complies with policies.
