Job summary

WellSpan Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to perform routine diagnostic procedures across chemistry, hematology, microbiology and immunology. The role emphasizes accuracy, timely reporting, and adherence to safety and QA standards.

The ideal candidate will have ASCP-eligible or registered status, an associate degree (preferred), and strong customer service and communication skills to support the hospital's laboratory operations.

Qualifications

• Education: Meets educational requirements set forth by ASCP for a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).
• Experience: Experience applying customer service behaviors and communication skills required.
• Certifications/Licensure: Registered or registry eligible as a Medical Laboratory Technician by the ASCP or AMT. Must achieve registered status within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Understands and follows hospital fire and safety procedures.
• Maintains membership and active participation in ASCP as a registered Medical Laboratory Technician.
• Performs routine diagnostic procedures in chemistry, hematology, microbiology and immunology.
• Enter results into computer system within 1 hour of test completion with a minimum of 99% accuracy.
• Performs and interprets diagnostic procedures and repeat tests when results are questionable.
• Assists with training new employees and student interns.
