Job summary

Confederated Tribes Of The Colville Reservation is seeking a Laboratory Technician (Medical) in Omak, WA to support the Colville Tribal Health Care Authority. The role involves patient-centered lab duties, specimen processing, and maintaining a compliant, efficient lab environment.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED with an Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field, and certification (ASCP/AMT/AAB) within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
• Associate degree Medical Laboratory Technician or related field.
• Certificate or License by ASCP, AMT, or AAB within 6 months of employment.
• HIPAA and Basic Life Support Certificate within initial 90 days of employment.
• Blood borne pathogen training annually.
• Ability to understand, speak, communicate and read the English language.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Assists lab staff with daily duties and responsibilities.
• Operates, cleans, and maintains laboratory equipment and area per standards.
• Processes laboratory specimens including receiving, identifying, accessioning, sorting, and distribution.
• Restocks supplies and manages equipment inventory.
• Records daily in electronic health record systems.
• Responds to inquiries about patient lab values and specimen requirements.
• Performs phlebotomy and basic anatomy for specimen collection.
• Packages and ships lab specimens properly.
• Complies with applicable laws and policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
