Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist for full-time day shifts at the Winston Campus in Winston-Salem, NC. The role emphasizes accurate and timely patient test results and strict adherence to QC/QA procedures in a high‑security, fast-paced laboratory environment.

The position requires an associate degree (preferred) and ASCP certification or equivalent (preferred), with prior MT experience beneficial.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree preferred.
• Medical Lab Technologist certification (ASCP) or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience as Medical Technologist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures accuracy and timeliness of patient laboratory test results.
• Ensures quality of test results by following defined Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) procedures.
• Ensures safety and compliance:
• Maintains appropriate education to accomplish work objectives and maintain current certifications as applicable.
• Ensure productive and efficient operations of the section and department.
• Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building.

Position Highlights

• Shift Schedule: Full-Time Days
• Primarily 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with weekends and holidays and other shifts as needed
• Department: Reference Lab Testing
• Location: Winston Campus

Education & Experience

• Associate's degree preferred.
• Medical Lab Technologist certification (ASCP) or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience as Medical Technologist preferred.

• Occasionally subject to irregular hours.
• Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances.
