An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Medical Lab Technician to join their clinical lab team. The Medical Lab Technician performs laboratory analyses, evaluates laboratory results, and reports results. Recognizes and solves basic laboratory problems and assists in maintenance of laboratory systems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Associates Degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology.
Experience: N/A
Licensure/Certification/Registration: ASCP certification as Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) within twelve (12) months of hire into this position. If hired prior to 11/4/2010, ASCP certification as MLT is not required. Those hired without valid certification are encouraged to take the first available examination after their date of hire and pass this certifying exam within three (3) consecutive administrations of the exam within twelve (12) months of hire.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of lab safety practices; knowledge of all lab departments state of the art policies and procedures; knowledge of general lab test results and correlations with physiological condition; ability to maintain and repair instrumentation and equipment; ability to understand and follow complex oral and written communication; extensive ability to perform duties accurately and efficiently while often under stress; ability to organize work and meet deadlines; ability to be technically adept in all departments of the laboratory; ability to be rigidly accurate in the identification and reporting of numbers, names, and results.

Exposed to reagents used in laboratory testing; may be exposed to/occasionally exposed to unpleasant patient elements. Exposed to hazards from electrical and mechanical equipment.
