$10,000 Sign-on/Retention Bonus available for qualified candidates with experience as Medical Technologist and/or Medical Lab Tech.
Department: CHEMISTRY, HEMATOLOGY OR BLOOD BANK
Work Hours: Various rotating shifts available, including Day/Evening, Day/Night, Evening/Night, or Straight Night. Will include rotating weekends and holidays as required.
The MLT is responsible for accurately processing, analyzing, and reporting laboratory results promptly, maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards. Responsibilities include following procedural guidelines, quality control monitoring, computer applications, instrumentation troubleshooting, and specimen collection and processing.
The MT exercises professional judgment in performing and interpreting laboratory tests, following established procedures, and may assume lead responsibilities in the absence of a supervisor. Capable of performing standard, complex, and specialized tests with an understanding of quality assurance to implement and monitor quality control programs.
Qualifications for the MLT candidate:
Required: Associate degree from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician Program or related field, or current MLT within HVHS (Grandfathered as of June 2004). Preferred: MLT (ASCP) certification.
Qualifications for the MT candidate:
Required: MT/MLS with ASCP certification or BS in biological sciences or related field, or equivalent experience; ASCP certification preferred. Alternatively, certification as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT) through HEW or current MT within HVHS (Grandfathered as of June 2004).
