Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or a relevant medical/scientific discipline is required.
• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology with at least three years of clinical experience is acceptable for the career ladder path.
• Certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP BOC) or equivalent, or relevant categorical certification, is required or implied.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing assigned to the department.
• Recognize unusual test results and resolve discrepancies.
• Establish work priorities and manage several procedures simultaneously, including troubleshooting instruments.
• Maintain knowledge of current SOPs and contribute to drafting/revising SOPs, training documents, and validation/verification plans.
• Maintain excellent communication with the department and Laboratory Services personnel.
