Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician I (MLT) for the Springfield Regional Medical Center. The role involves performing routine tests on blood, tissues, and body specimens, delivering high-quality results to physicians, and ensuring patient safety and anonymity.

The MLT must meet certification requirements, have established lab technique knowledge, and maintain quality controls in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Must have AS in Medical Lab Technology or alternate paths as listed
• 60 semester hours including chemistry and biology and completion of a Medical Lab Technician program
• Completed a 50-week U.S. military medical laboratory training course within past ten years

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical tests on biological specimens accurately and timely
• Determine specimen acceptability via visual inspection and result review
• Conduct quality control to ensure results meet established ranges
• Maintain safe, clean work area and monitor equipment and temperatures
• Assist with other duties as assigned
