Job summary

HCA Florida Ocala Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform accurate, timely lab testing and to support patient care. You will work with technologists and supervisors on data interpretation, with strict documentation and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in science required.
• Florida technician license or ability to obtain during interview.
• ASCP or similar certification is very helpful.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing.
• Seek guidance from technologists and supervisors in interpretation of data.
• Complete all required records documenting patient results.
• Perform stat procedures, timed studies, and routine tests within turnaround targets.
• Review logs and resolve outstanding workload with staff.
• Perform quality control procedures and document results.
• Take corrective action when results are out of specification.
• Assist supervisor in meeting regulatory requirements (CAP, etc.).

Education

2-Year/Associate Degree in Science

State of Florida Technician License or ability to obtain

ASCP or similar certification
