Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for a full-time evening shift. The MLT will perform diagnostic testing on patient samples, maintain records, and ensure quality control to support physician diagnoses.

The ideal candidate will be ASCP/AMT/NCA certified or equivalent, with strong English communication skills. Laboratory experience is preferred, and the role requires ability to work under pressure in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Must have an accredited associate degree or equivalent in medical laboratory technology.
• Certified as MLT (AMT, ASCP, or NCA) or equivalent for high‑complexity testing.
• Strong English communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic testing on patient samples to aid physicians in diagnosis and monitoring.
• Maintain laboratory records and follow policies; ensure quality control.
• Report test results and perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Maintain supplies needed for testing and ensure proper quality testing.
