Job summary

Paradise Valley Hospital, part of Prime Healthcare, seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform waived to moderate complexity tests and report results in a fast-paced hospital lab.

Requirements include ASCP certification, a California MLT license, and an associate degree in a laboratory science field. Prior hospital lab experience is preferred; day shift; comprehensive benefits and total rewards package offered.

Qualifications

• ASCP certification required or equivalent.
• Associate degree or 60 semester units in a laboratory science field with coursework in biology/chemistry.
• Active California MLT license required.
• Minimum one year hospital lab experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform waived or moderate complexity laboratory tests under CLIA (42 CFR 493.1489) and report results.
• Adhere to lab procedures for specimen collection, processing, analysis and reporting.
• Follow quality control policies and document corrective actions.
• Maintain instruments/equipment and ensure accuracy of patient results.
• Identify issues affecting test performance and escalate as needed.
• Assist in development and maintenance of lab policies and procedures.

Education

ASCP certification

1 year hospital lab experience (preferred)
