Summary

Responsible for analyzing laboratory specimens and reporting results according to laboratory protocols and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Appropriate clinical training in testing neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients, or successful completion of a 50-week US military medical laboratory procedures course, with experience as a Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician). Physical requirements include light lifting (up to 25 pounds), manual dexterity, and ability to speak clearly. Visual acuity and color discernment are necessary. May involve contact with potentially infectious materials.

Minimum Requirements

• MLT(ASCP) certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
