Job summary

Mauri Regional Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to support the Blood Bank and broader Laboratory department at Maury Regional Medical Center – Columbia, TN. This full-time role requires rotating responsibilities across hematology, bacteriology, chemistry and blood bank, with standard hours and a Monday–Friday schedule.

Applicants must hold an MLT licensure or national certification and an NAACLS-accredited Associate’s degree; 1 year of related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Licensure as a Medical Laboratory Technician by Tennessee Medical Laboratory Board OR National Certification as MLT by ASCP/AMT/AAB
  • Associate's Degree from NAACLS Laboratory Science Program required
  • 1 year of related experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform tests and report results for diagnosis, treatment, or monitoring of diseases in assigned lab areas (hematology, bacteriology, chemistry, blood bank)
  • Operate instruments to conduct high-volume, less complex analytical tests
  • Conduct quality control procedures and document findings; report abnormal/critical values per policy

SHIFT: Full-Time,Mon-Fri 3p-11:15p

JOB SUMMARY:

Medical Laboratory Technicians are responsible for performing tests and reporting results for use in the diagnosis, treatment and/or monitoring treatment of diseases. Individual performs tasks, duties and/or complex tests in all areas of the laboratory assigned (hematology, bacteriology, chemistry, blood bank) according to established laboratory protocols and procedures. Medical Laboratory Technicians operate equipment or instruments necessary to perform high volume, less difficult analytical tests. Recognizing instrument malfunction and making simple corrections using preset strategies or notifying a supervisor. Individuals are responsible for performing and recording all quality control procedures required for tests assayed as well as recognizing abnormal or unusual test results and following departmental policy for reporting critical values.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

· Licensure as a Medical Laboratory Technician by Tennessee Medical Laboratory Board ORNational Certification as Medical Laboratory Technician by ASCP, AMT, AAB Required

· Associate's Degree from a NAACLS Laboratory Science Program Required
