Job summary

Maury Regional Health is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform specimen processing, collection, labeling, and distribution of blood, urine, and other specimens at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, TN. Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory specimen processing including collection, receiving, identifying, labeling, sorting, preparation and internal distribution of blood, urine and other specimens.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding patient reports, reference ranges, specimen requirements and test procedures.
  • Ensure specimens are drawn and analyzed according to established standards of care while using universal precautions and protective equipment.

SHIFT: 3DWKE, Friday-Sunday 6a-7:30p

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs laboratory specimen processing consisting of collecting, receiving, identifying, labeling, sorting, preparation and internal laboratory distribution of blood, urine, and other biological specimens. Individual responds to inquiries concerning patient reports, reference ranges, specimen requirements, procedures, time required for tests, and preparation of specimens to outside labs for analysis. Phlebotomist are responsible for ensuring laboratory specimens are drawn and analyzed according to established standards of care while using universal precautions and appropriate protective equipment as required to reduce exposure to infection, blood borne pathogens and hazardous materials.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred
  • 1 Year of Related Experience Preferred
