Job Summary:

Sign-on Bonus: $10,000 and Relocation Bonus

The Medical Laboratory Technician performs laboratory testing and related procedures necessary to generate accurate and timely patient reports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs general housekeeping duties to keep work areas safe from contamination and physical hazards.
• Collaborates with co-workers and other hospital departments to ensure high patient and customer satisfaction.
• Performs instrument maintenance and troubleshooting within areas of demonstrated competency.
• Supports community initiatives and promotes the clinical laboratory profession.
• Maintains a positive attitude at all times.
• Conducts daily quality control and maintenance activities.
• Participates in Quality Assurance programs and proficiency testing.
• Reports critical values promptly to physicians or nursing staff.
• Considers patient age and other factors affecting test results.
• Seeks learning opportunities from Medical Technologists and participates in continuing education.
• Proactively learns new procedures and laboratory areas, including LIS.
• Identifies opportunities to reduce reagent waste and unnecessary test repeats.
• Manages inventory, workflow, and time efficiently.
• Reports laboratory compliance issues, including potential fraud, billing discrepancies, CPT coding changes, or questionable medical necessity.
