Job Summary

The Clinical Laboratory Technician performs a variety of laboratory tests, many of which are complex, involving multiple steps and techniques, requiring professional judgment. Tests may be conducted in Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Microbiology, Blood Bank, Serology, or Urinalysis. The technician applies laboratory principles, theories, and techniques to produce reliable results that assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment. Responsibilities include routine testing, ensuring accuracy, proper use of quality control materials, and understanding the interdependence of tests and factors affecting results.

• Associate's degree in chemical, physical, biological sciences, or medical laboratory technology, or graduation from an MLT program accredited by NAACLS.
• Certification with ASCP, AMT, or equivalent preferred.
• Must meet CLIA 88 standards for testing personnel in a high complexity laboratory.
• Experience in areas such as Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Microbiology, Serology, Urinalysis, or Transfusion Medicine is preferred.
