Job summary

Virtua Health in Marlton, NJ seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Technologist for a part-time, per diem role on the 2nd shift. The position involves performing moderate to high complexity testing, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining QA procedures while supporting patient care.

Qualified candidates have an Associate’s degree in laboratory science and registration for high complexity testing; ASCP certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Externship- 4-6 months, good interpersonal and time management skills.
• Associate’s degree in laboratory science area.
• Valid registration as a Medical Laboratory Technician or equivalent or meets CLIA88 requirements for high complexity testing. ASCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate and high complexity testing according to established procedures.
• Validates results post-analytically and investigates deviations.
• Performs quality control and documents procedures.
• Handles pre-analytical processes including patient ID and phlebotomy.
• Operates and troubleshoots lab equipment.
• Provides outstanding customer service through effective communication.
