Job summary

NorthWest EMS is seeking a Medical Lab Technician/Medical Technologist for Heritage Valley Beaver in Beaver, PA. The role involves performing and evaluating a broad range of laboratory tests in CHEMISTRY, HEMATOLOGY & BLOOD BANK, with rotating shifts and inclusion of weekends/holidays as required.

The candidate will process, analyze and report results with attention to accuracy and confidentiality, follow quality control and instrument troubleshooting procedures, and may assume lead

Qualifications

• Associate degree or related field required; ASCP is preferred.
• MT/MLS track with ASCP certification or CLT considered; grandfathered HVHS candidates allowed.

Responsibilities

• Process, analyze and report laboratory results in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
• Perform quality control monitoring and adhere to procedural guidelines.
• Operate and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation; manage computer applications for data entry and result reporting.
• Handle specimen collection and processing requirements with accuracy and confidentiality.
• Exercise professional judgment and may assume lead responsibilities in the absence of supervision; interpret standard and specialized tests.
