Qualifications

• Must have an associate degree in Medical Lab Technology.
• 60 semester hours (including six hours of chemistry and six of biology) from an accredited college or university and completed a Medical Lab Technician Program.
• Completed a 50-week U.S. military medical laboratory training course within the past ten years.

Responsibilities

• Performs analytical tests on biological specimens in a timely, efficient and accurate manner in compliance with procedures.
• Determines acceptability of specimens by visual inspection or by recognizing abnormal results.
• Recognizes factors affecting measurements and takes appropriate action per protocols.
• Performs quality control for all testing and ensures results meet established ranges before release.
• Maintains a safe and efficient work environment by equipment checks, cleaning, monitoring temperatures, and troubleshooting.
