Watertown Regional Medical Center, part of ScionHealth, is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to join our acute-care hospital team in southeastern Wisconsin.

You will perform tests across chemistry, hematology, microbiology and blood bank, calibrate instruments, report critical values, and contribute to QA and patient care.

The role requires an Associate’s degree in MLT or related field, and ASCP/AMT preferred with BLS; prior hospital lab experience is preferred.

Qualifikationen

• Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field required.
• ASCP or AMT MLT certification preferred; BLS certification required per facility policy.
• Clinical lab experience in a hospital or diagnostic setting preferred.

• Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment according to established protocols.

• Maintain quality control and quality assurance protocols to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Perform venipuncture and specimen collection as required.
• Assist in training new laboratory staff and students on laboratory procedures and protocols.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively with medical staff, patients, and other departments regarding laboratory procedures and test results.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and continuing education to maintain clinical competencies.

The Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing routine and complex laboratory tests in areas such as chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and blood banking. The role involves conducting diagnostic testing, analyzing test results, and maintaining laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable outcomes. The MLT collaborates with laboratory staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide timely and effective patient care in an acute care hospital setting.

Qualifications

Education

• Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Applied Science, Biology, or related field required.

Licenses/Certifications

• ASCP or AMT certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within timeframe specified in facility policy.

Experience

• Clinical laboratory experience in a hospital or diagnostic laboratory setting preferred.
