Job summary

Southcoast Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician for Tobey Hospital in Wareham, MA. The role supports per diem hours with flexible shifts, 7:00am-3:30pm or 3:00pm-11:30pm, and requires a two-site vaccination policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Science is required.
• One year of experience in multiple laboratory disciplines (Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank) preferred.
• ASCP or equivalent certification required within two years from date of hire and maintained if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory analysis with accuracy and precision per written procedures.
• Identify all critical or unexpected results and verify per established procedures.
• Notify Supervisor or Clinical Specialist as appropriate.
• Prepare samples for analysis.
• Draw correct specimen and volume.
• Assign accession numbers and maintain an orderly workstation.

• Maintain workstation in a neat and orderly fashion.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Science required.
• One year of experience in multiple laboratory disciplines including Chemistry, Hematology and Blood Bank preferred.
• Medical Laboratory Technician certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or equivalent certification is required within two years from date of hire and if applicable maintain certification through ASCP or comparable approved agency.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.

Pay Range

USD $32.64 - USD $41.78 /Hr.
