Job summary

The UVA Community Health division is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist to perform patient testing and QC activities across locations in Gainesville and Warrenton, VA. Travel between sites is required and expected as part of the role.

Responsibilities include maintaining instrument performance, QC documentation, inventory management, and adherence to safety and quality standards. A Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related field and ASCP/AMT certification are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or equivalent.
• Experience: 1 year preferred but not required.
• New graduates must obtain certification within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient and QC testing and reports results per policy.
• Maintains equipment, performs routine maintenance, and initiates service requests.
• Ensures safety, quality compliance, and timely communication of critical values.

Education
