Job summary

Vitalant is seeking a Med Lab Scientist Trainer in Pittsburgh, PA, to mentor new employees and deliver essential lab trainings within the Transfusion Services division. The role supports competency tracking and ongoing training initiatives across the lab team.

Responsibilities include leading generalist and scientist training programs, tracking progress, and collaborating on new projects to ensure compliant, high-quality laboratory operations in a mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Lab Science or MLS certification required.
• MLS certification required within 6 months of employment.
• Pay: MLS I $32.17/hour, MLS II $35.89–$37.00/hour, MLS III $41.27–$42.55/hour (as listed).

Responsibilities

• Mentor new employees.
• Conduct Medical Lab Generalist (6 weeks) new hire training.
• Conduct Medical Lab Scientist (8 weeks) new hire training.
• Track competency compliance.
• Take on new projects and create trainings.
