Job summary

Vitalant is seeking a Laboratory Services Supervisor to oversee daily technical operations, blood component processing, and routine testing. You will lead and train staff, manage QC activities, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards at our Mather location.

The role requires a biology/chemistry-based degree, MT certification or CLIA equivalent, and 1 year of experience with 2 years of supervisory experience preferred. Location: 10536 Peter A McCuen Blvd, Mather, CA 95655.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological, medical technology or medical laboratory science.
• Certification as Medical Technologist by a recognized certifying agency or CLIA equivalent for moderate or high complexity testing.
• State licensure as required by regulations.
• One year of laboratory experience required.
• Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Certification as technologist in blood banking (BB) or specialist in blood banking (SBB) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and assess the performance of the intake of blood products, product testing, and product labeling.
• Oversee department equipment maintenance program, including preventative maintenance records and vendor scheduling.
• Manage the Product Quality Control program, including completion of product QC record, assessments, reporting, failure investigations and corrective action.
• Investigate deviations in testing, quality control and preventative maintenance.
• Assist in reporting and resolving deviations.
• Conduct required competency observations and complete documentation.
• Provide effective leadership to achieve high levels of service and product quality, financial results to meet company goals.
