Job summary

Foundation Health Partners is seeking an experienced Medical Lab Scientist to join the team in Alaska as a per diem/PRN position. The role requires a strong technical background, CLIA/JCAHO/CAP/OSHA familiarity, and a commitment to quality patient testing.

The ideal candidate holds a relevant bachelor's degree and MLS/ASCP certification (or equivalent), with demonstrated problem-solving skills and effective communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science or medical technology.
• MLS/ASCP certification or equivalent such as ASCP, AMT, HEW, or AAB; if not certified, must obtain within one year.
• Excellent problem-solving, self-motivation, and strong written/oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Follow procedures for specimen handling, processing, testing, reporting and record keeping.
• Maintain records showing proficiency testing is aligned with patient testing.
• Adhere to QC policies, calibrations and maintenance documentation.
• Follow policies when test systems are out of acceptable performance ranges.
• Identify problems affecting test performance and report to Lead/Supervisor/Director.
• Document corrective actions for deviations in performance specs.
• Maintain current knowledge through continuing education.
• Recognize opportunities to improve financial performance.
