Job summary

Alaska Regional Hospital, part of the HCA Healthcare network in Anchorage, is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist PRN to join our Laboratory team. You will handle blood specimen reception, perform tests, and support departments with reliable data for patient care.

The role includes antibody screening, crossmatching, operating automated analyzers, maintaining equipment, and implementing new testing methods to stay current with technology. Eligible candidates typically hold MT/MLS credentials and BLS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, MLS, or related sciences including practical training
• ASCP MT/MLS/MLT or equivalent certification
• 3–5 years of laboratory experience
• BLS/BCLS certification

Responsibilities

• Receive blood specimens, perform blood tests and study blood morphology
• Conduct routine or special tests using automated equipment, manual methods, and microscopy
• Maintain and operate laboratory analyzers and related equipment
• Perform antibody screening, identification and cross-matching for transfusion
