Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a biological or chemical science as defined by CLIA.
• Must be appropriately trained in clinical laboratory science as evaluated by the Director of the Clinical Laboratory.
• MLS (ASCP) or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs cytogenetic testing with a high level of competency according to established protocols.
• Generates and reports results used for making accurate diagnoses and prognoses, influencing patient care and management.
• Responsible for accurate and timely result reporting, including communication and documentation of critical results.
• Utilizes critical thinking skills and exercises independent judgment to correlate and interpret data.
• Responsible for operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instruments and documentation of activities.
• Completes required QC and maintenance, recognizing variances and documenting corrective action.
